So we moved, and that is why I have not been on here filling you in on our very important daily activities; there has simply been no time.
We bought a house. Can I say it again? We bought a house! Hee-ya! After searching for the past few years, we found one that seems to suit us just right. I wasn't sure at first, and of course have put poor Adam through my diatribes and feisty jabs about it (which I can do, oh I can do) to which of course, he calmly listened and ne'r interjected a word. But upon further inspection, I have concluded that I like it. I really like it. It might even be love. I have become friends with the back yard, acquainted with the kitchen, and I'm working on setting up the bedrooms.
It has taken some work. Labor intensive work. Like painting, new flooring, bringing the yard back from the dead, and cleaning. And it's not done. It is a work in progress, I will say. But, it is big and spacious and new-ish and I can roll on the new carpet with my children and not have to worry about what's lurking in the old rental carpet we had in our condo. Hoorah!
My requirements in a house were:
-to be not crusty
-to have a fenced backyard where the children could go play when I get tired of them at about 3:00 in the afternoon
-to have new carpet so my children could lay on it and I would not cringe.
Mission Accomplished! Yea!
I will put up some pictures pretty soon. First, I need to take some and mail them to my brother who is on a mission and has been asking to see what the house looks like for like a month now, and I've just been too crazy about having to have the house all clean in order to get it done. So, first things first, then I'll put some on here.
Happy New House Moment #1:
Working in the backyard all afternoon with James and Annabelle a couple weeks back. Clipping dead branches, yanking things out of the dirt (good for anger issues), watering, and letting the kids do whatever pleased them. We filled the little kiddie pool with water-- Anna stripped down and ran around the grass like a crazy girl and Jamie laid out flat in the pool water, soaking up the sunshine. Anna learned how to squat down and go potty on the grass and Jamie backed the lesson up by demonstrating the usefulness of not having to run into the house to use the toilet. Heck, it's a fenced yard! My yard and I became soulmates that afternoon and it has been fun to watch the little buds pop up all over. Yea for having my own space in this world!
