We had a lovely holiday weekend at my sister's house. My parent's met us at her house and the children spent the day playing with grandma and grandpa. Kristen and I cooked the Thanksgiving feast together, and it was so fun! We learned all about pulling giblets from a cavernous turkey carcass, and useful things like that.Sophie, the dog, highly enjoyed those giblets.
And we highly enjoyed the delicious meal and delightsome company.
We spent the rest of the weekend shopping and lazing about her house playing wii and other such things. We went to Cheesecake on Friday evening to celebrate Kevin's birthday. We had the best waiter in Christendom: he brought us basket after basket of warm bread, let us take all the time we needed in ordering, provided sliced bananas for the children to snack on, and finished up the meal with a hot fudge sundae and a heart-felt rendition of "happy birthday" for the birthday boy!
We popped by Adam's brother Jason's house in Monterey on the way home to bring our niece, Jessica, a present for her baby boy who should be arriving any day now! We visited for awhile, played with their puppies, and chatted while the kids had fun with an awesome marble game they had.
On Sunday morning, we put up our tree and then decorated it after church. The children helped Adam put up every ornament while I cooked dinner. When we were eating, they kept running back into the living room to look at the beautiful lights. This is our first Christmas in our new home, and our first Christmas with a big tree. We've always had a little miniature tree up on a table top because our little condo was too tiny for anything bigger. It really is beautiful!
This is truly the most wonderful time of the year!
