Sweet Land of Liberty

After church on Sunday, we had friends and my family over for dinner to celebrate the Fourth of July. Adam barbecued delicious teriyaki chicken, and we had salad and fruit and sourdough bread, topped off with American flag cake, homemade cream puffs, and chocolate chip cookies. Such scrumptious food!

We watched Oklahoma, the most Americana movie we could think of. The little girls danced in my living room along with the movie. My very most favorite part of the movie is when Will gets off the train and all the cowboys dance with Aunt Eller. So cute! The kids also had an impromptu game of baseball on the front drive while we waited for it to get dark enough for FIREWORKS!!

Derek, my friend Janell's darling baby.

My friend, Lori, brought glow sticks for all the children and they had so much fun with those and the fireworks! Later, we walked down to our park and let the kids go crazy playing games in the dark with their glow sticks.

We love this country with all our hearts. Happy Independence Day, America!
