Utah!!

We spent last week in Utah visiting family.
Adam met his brother and sister in Zion National Park to hike the subway.
Then we drove all the way up the state of Utah, to see Adam's parents.
We had fun going up the canyon:
 the children dipping their feet in the roaring creek
 {blacksmith fork}
 papa, grandma janet, & adam

Whenever we are in Logan, we love going over to Bear Lake. We ate lunch on the beach, jumped in the water for a swim, and then let the warm sun dry us as we laid in the sand. On our way out, we got shakes and onion rings at Le Beau's. Yum! As we were leaving, we stopped at the vista point to look at the view and oh my goodness, it was beautiful! The aqua marine lake set against green grass and wild flowers.... oh my!

 raspberry shakes!!!!! yippee!!!

We went to the the American Heritage Center the day before Pioneer Day. There was a farm house with home cooked samples (ginger cookies right from the wood stove!), horse drawn covered wagon rides, and a 100 year old working steam tractor. Anna was able to make a dolly and James learned pioneer games. What fun!
The Gatling Gun was James' favorite during the gun demonstrations.
Cowboy James and Cowgirl Annie
Riding the ponies

Scrubbing laundry!
We rode the train round and round a dozen times. The engineer allowed the children to sit in the little caboose all by themselves!
James and Anna's favorite was the woodworking shop. James loved the wooden toys and Anna wanted this rocking horse so badly:

Feeding the real pony, he was so soft and sweet!
