We drove the 24 hours to see my sister & her family. And we survived. It was really wasn't all that bad. The kids played lots of games, snacked, listened to books, watched movies, colored,,,, and we stopped in the lovely ghost town of Tombstone, AZ along the way. My dad went here as a little boy & saw the reenactment of the gun fight between cowboys and he insisted that we must go. It was a great time!

While in San Antonio, we took the children to see the Alamo. It was a very neat experience. James pointed out all the James' on the plaques of men that had fought at the Alamo. There were quite a few! Then we went down to the the river walk which is absolutely lovely.
