Birthday's and a Day in the Village

On the Saturday before they left, we decided to celebrate all the kids birthday's together. Jordan and James' are in January and Annabelle's is in February, so we thought we'd celebrate while we were all together. And although Megan's is in June, she got a birthday too.

We went here to Heritage Park. My little brother's old pre-school has been converted into this really neat museum about the history of AG. The rooms were designed from the turn of the century with a parlor (a wedding dress on display!), little girl's bedroom (oh the homemade quilts and wicker doll buggy!), and a vintage kitchen complete with ringer washer, wood stove, icebox refrigerator, and this. I was in heaven! I was dying to play dress up and move right in. Where was my apron and red lipstick? I was made for a different time, things were so feminine back then. I think I'm going to start wearing hats and gloves...

The old school house has been moved there and an old-fashioned barn has been built. The kids LOVED the old school house! The lady was dressed as an old school teacher and asked them questions while they sat at the desks and she let them each pull the rope to ring the big bell.

Annabelle wearing her brother's cowboy hat.

Adam is a sneak with that camera. This is me looking through the vintage school books, I look pretty engrossed.

We then walked across the swinging bridge to get a treat at Doc Burnstein's Ice Cream Parlor. Delish!

That picture of you is soo pretty. Adam is a good photographer, and we love the pictures he took of our family. That was such a fun day in the village. That museum was the neatest thing!

I found your blog through a comment you left on Kelly McCaleb's blog. I didn't know you had one! I am so glad I found you on here. Hope things are going well with you guys! The kids are getting so big! We should try and get together soon.
