There is a really neat park in Shell Beach. It overlooks the ocean, has fun play equipment, and if you're feeling adventuresome, you can walk down the steep rocky ravine to the tide pools. We saw sea anemones and crabs who make a soft click-clicking noise as they crawl between the cracks in the rocks. You may even spot a surfer or two. We did.

The sit-upon excavator that digs in the sand is a hit with children, boys and girls alike. It has a tire swing that was sheer delight. I remembered how much I liked them as a little girl, so I climbed aboard and enjoyed a turn or two. But it is really hard to climb out of, I don't remember that part from childhood. :)
