Las Vegas

Our trip to Lost Wages (hehe, my dad always calls it that) consisted of:
Eating out every night. Here we are at Roy's with Adam's birthday wonder-bread-with-chocolate-sauce dessert. Dinner was very good, though.

Children getting up early to play video games and watch Dora cartoons. Since we deprive our children, we don't have either video games or cable. They were enthralled by such things.

Visits to the M&M and the Coca-Cola stores on the strip. Watching the high-quality super awesome 3-D M&M movie and trying varieties of Coke from around the world. Seeing the lions at MGM Grand. Yes, that's a lioness' paws and teeth. Pretty cool, huh?

Playing at the new splash park in their neighborhood. It was really fun-- water randomly shoots out from the ground which is really great because it is actually hot enough so that you would want water drenching you.

After church on Sunday, we drove out to Nevada Springs where there is an old western town and little zoo. Little mice were scampering about the zoo stealing food from the animals. Odd. But, Marisa got Jamie to pet a rather skiddish deer so that was neat. You've got to feel it for the lynx though, coming from arctic weather conditions in like northern Canada, sitting in a zoo outside of Vegas where the only thing to cool off in is a children's wading pool filled with warm, murky water. We enjoyed riding the train around the town, watching an old fashioned melodrama put on by two guys, a shoot-out in the street, and a hanging. Marisa got to play the judge. And the children were deputized and learned about gun safety. Good times.

We had such fun with our friends, the Hill's. Thanks you guys!
