This last Thursday, the children and I picked up my mom and went to Disneyland for her birthday. We all have annual passes, so we thought why not? We drove down in the morning and drove home that night, arriving home at about 1:30 in the morning. But it was fun.

The day was hot. Like probably 300 degrees or something like that and I was sweating profusely. The mila-instant we arrived at Disneyland, I remembered that I hadn't put the double stroller in the car, or any stroller for that matter. But I did have my Ergo, which being the best invention of mankind, I thought it would suffice. I told myself it would, but upon closer examination (aka walking across the entrance into Disneyland) I realized we would definitely be needing some strollers. We rented two, and they made the day possible. Really, they did.

After going on a couple rides, we realized it was much too hot to function and that our stomachs were starting to eat themselves, so we high tailed it over to the Golden Horseshoe for a little early dinner and a show. My mom had never seen Billy Hill and the Hillbillies (if you haven't either, you must)-- so we laughed and enjoyed ourselves amidst plenty of food and air conditioning. Just the way I like it.

It had cooled off quite a bit by the time we ventured to step outside again, and then we proceeded to have a smashing good time all over Disneyland.

The requests made by the children were:
1. to go on the bobsleds by James
2. to not go on the Bobsleds this time by Annabelle

And so James and I rode on the bobsleds together twice.

One of the surprising highlights of the day was the little roller coaster in Toon Town. The children loved it! A low point was the bazillion hour long line for Roger Rabbit's Tailspin Adventure...? that we were goatroped into by their alluring 5-minute wait sign. Not 5 minutes and not that great of a ride. Altough, the air conditioning while in line was pretty great.

Once again, a lovely time had at the Magic Kingdom. Not even a long drive, lack of sleep, the rude stroller rental chick, or sick children can cause me to love it less.
