So for the entire week, we've had sickness as a guest in our house. Such a lovely visitor. So pleasant. James had it first, then Anna had it Tuesday night, Me on Friday night, and now Adam has it. It is yucky.
The most disturbing part of it all was that I was feeling pretty lousy on Saturday, and I had big plans to go to Old Navy.... and I wasn't able to go. Which is tragic, because they had this really cute cream colored cable-knit sweater dress for little girls on sale for like $10 less that normal and I really wanted to get it for Anna. Not because she particularly needs a cream cable-knit sweater dress, but it is really cute I tell you! Really cute. And now it's back to it's regular price, which I hate because I was this close to getting there on the sale day, but had to go and get sick. Dang it.
My favorite highlight of the sickness, you ask? That would be the night Anna was sick and I was nervous about having her sleep by herself in her room because every time she would throw up, she wouldn't sit up in time and then it would sit in her mouth and she would start to choke on it. Like not be able to breathe and running down her throat. Not good. I was afraid of her doing this in the night, and not being able to work through it and choking and dying. So, I decided to make myself a little bed on the floor beside her bed so that I could help her throughout the night. She had already nastied the majority of our blanket supply, so I gathered the few brave remaining blankets in the house, had just settled down, and was just starting to doze off.... ahhh, how nice, some rest for the Mama. She chose this moment to wake up, roll over, and sporadically heave (how could there still be more in there?) down the side of her bed, all over me, my face, my pillow, my little nest of fresh blankets I had just put down, and the brand-new carpet. My goodness.
I stripped her bed including the bed skirt, cleaned her and myself up, scrubbed the carpet and the side of her mattresses, and grabbed the one last sole surviving blanket. We wrapped up in it, and zonked out.
For a couple hours at least, until the next episode.

In the future, although I hope you don't have many futures with puke in them, call me and I will go to Old Navy for you. I know the feeling of a good sale :).
