I am thankful for my boy, Adam.
I met Adam in the fall of 2000, my first quarter at Cal Poly. He had just returned from a two year mission in Colombia, and we met in the kitchen at the institute. The institute is a place on alot of college campuses for Mormon students to study, eat, and have activities together. It's like a really clean, happy, feel-good fraternity slash sorority, except without the alcoholic beverages. Anyways. We met in the kitchen on a crisp fall day; I was making myself something to eat (probably cup of noodles or something) and he walked in with his blue sweater his girlfriend had given him from Switzerland and khaki's. He looked across the room, we locked eyes, and he smiled at me.
Two and a half years later, we got married.
Before I married Adam, it was the most stressful time ever, college is really hard and I worked the whole time too. And dated and dated and dated. Several dates, boyfriends, an engagement and large amounts of ridiculous flirting later, it became clear that Adam was the one for me. And that's it.Adam is quiet and reserved, but is extremely protective and caring. When I was in the hospital having our babies, he never left my side. He was there holding my hand and helping me push them out. He even delivered Annabelle, my doctor told him to come pull her out and joked that he was getting his birthing scout merit badge (uh, needless to say my doctor was a big scouter :). He slept in my room in the hospital to keep a watchful eye.
He can do everything. He can take care of a baby like none other, and can put together and fix anything. He can cook really well, he vaccums, unloads the dishwasher, does laundry, takes care of the children, and will do pretty much anything I ask him to. Even go shopping with me which is my favorite thing to do, and probably his least favorite. He loves to sail, go out to eat, cook, fly anything from kites to airplanes, wake board, ski, play soccer, play video games, and watch movies. He is really good at playing the trumpet and making paper airplanes much to the delight of Jamie and Anna.
it looks like he is gently stroking the airplane nose, doesn't it? well folks, he probably is :). no, i think he's just doing all the pre-flight checks. He even went to see New Moon with me yesterday. Because he is awesome. And I love him that way.
