Angel, by Sarah McLachlan.
I love this song. It is forever embedded on my soul. I first came into contact with this song at my Winter Formal in Junior Year of high school. Good old 1999. I went with my boyfriend, Wes, and when we danced to this song there was some sort of emotional connection between him, me, and this song. The entire dance floor was dark, except for one soft white light. That one light, I swear, was shining right down on us, lighting up my pretty hair, my long red dress, and his sweet face. We broke up just a few months later. We were 16 going on 17, afterall. But, I will never forget that one moment we had. And this song reminds me of it every time.
I have the piano music and lyrics to this song. One night, after a long day of work at Office Max, my good friend and co-worker Kevin and I came back to my house. We were just goofing off, playing the piano and laughing. He found this one in my collection of songs, and he asked me to play it. He listened quietly, until he stopped me and said, that's just too beautiful and too sad, you have to stop.
Anyhow. You may think I'm a sappy girl and this is just some dumb 90's song, but it's one of my favorites.
I turned off the car, and listened to my favorite song. And this rare quiet moment in the car reminded me that we are all in the arms of the angels. Heavenly Father and his angels watch over us at all times, keeping us safe and caring for us. I tell this to my children every night as they are falling asleep. And it's true.

That song does make me think of high school, but it can still be comforting now. I hope your family gets better.
Love that song. Makes me think of the movie, and my "this looks like Los Angeles" comment. Yea... Good times!
Great song. Whenever I hear it on the radio in the car I have to stop and listen too. :) Thanks for the great post.
