It has been far too long since I have seen Yosemite's astounding beauty.

When I was a little girl, my family went to Yosemite almost every year. And Adam and I took Jamie when he was a little tyke, before Anna was born. But we haven't been since. We have been secretly wanting to go for quite some time now, and when we heard that our friends the Mallory's were going, we decided we must go too.

Their son Parker had an academic decathlon in Oakhurst, so we stayed there with them and had a marvelous time sledding, playing in the indoor pool, going out for pizza, and frolicking in the snow! We started to drive into the valley on Friday, but turned back when the roads became dangerously icy and there were "chains required" signs every 2 feet. We were SO close! Oh well we had a great time anyway, and now we have a reason to go back again!

This is what we woke up to in the morning, beautiful:
This picture is the epitome of spring:

At the entrance to our hotel, there was this amazing Statue of Liberty carved out of wood. I mean, look at how huge it is:
The children posing by the cuckoo clock in the lobby. Isn't this the most hilarious picture? Just check out Annie's stance!
