La Nina

It was 4th Grade Mission Day for Annabelle on Friday.
Her class displayed their missions, sang & danced for us, and joined us in a delicious Mexican feast. She worked for weeks on her mission-- they had to invent a mission & decide where it should be, what to name it. She named her's Mision de Annabella, and it was located at Wishon, near Bass Lake. She wanted it to be in the pine trees, with fresh water close by.

They really did a superb job on their missions! Their Spanish teacher taught them all the words to "De Colores" & "Cielito Lindo" & they performed a Mexican waltz & the Hat Dance. But it was at the end when they sang "I'll Always Come Back to California" that made me think of their year-long study of our state & all that they've learned.

So proud of Anna & all she has accomplished this year. She joined this class during the middle of the school year & hasn't looked back!
