James Turns Six

James was born on the 21st of January on a drizzly night six years ago. He always complains that it rains on his birthday, but not this year. This year it was warm and sunny!

We woke up with donuts and some presents on James' birthday and then went to lunch at Olive Garden. Later, my parents and grandma came over for a homemade dinner of spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and cake. He opened presents from everyone and he got some awesome Cars legos, a talking GI Joe complete with about 1,000 guns and contraptions, a Navy ship and helicopter, a United States puzzle, and a BIKE!

(Anna made this card for him by herself. I traced the "J" and helped her cut it out, but she glued it on and wrote it. She sure likes her brother.)

He had some friends over on Saturday for a movie night. They watched Bolt (one of James' favorites) and had pizza, cupcakes, and treats. He had a super fun time with his friends! An altogether awesome birthday!

Some of James' Favs:

1. into star wars and super heroes, his favorite being Batman. And cars and trucks, always cars and trucks ever since he was old enough to send one zooming down the hall and make "vroom" noises.

2. learning to read and write and is really good at addition. Stayed home for kindergarten and loves being able to play with/bug his sister all day and make demands of his mother. No, just kidding, we are loving it and I am having a great time teaching him.

3. favorite restaurant is Chili's and loves McDonald's double cheeseburgers best of all.

4. loves celery dipped in ranch and green apples and consumes copious amounts of both.

5. really good about going to bed, thank goodness.

6. loves space mountain and the bobsleds at Disneyland, and goes on them over and over!

We love him more than words can say!
